Announcing our Summer 2026 Issue
And Celebrating 70 Years of Creative Writing at the University of Tulsa
Our Summer 2026 issue—the contents of which we have just revealed at our site—is at the printers and will arrive in the hands of our subscribers before the end of June.
Among the contributions is Clifford Thompson’s essay on the American vision of Ralph Ellison, a son of Oklahoma, whose Invisible Man appeared nearly 75 years ago. Nimrod and that great novel are near contemporaries; this year we mark 70 years of continues publication since our founding at the University of Tulsa by a group of undergraduates. And the university is still inspiring students at all levels to produce and publish the writing they want to see. Our sister journal on campus, Stylus, is staffed entirely by undergrads, and its current editors will join us on Monday, May 18, to celebrate our collective work at the Oklahoma Center for the Humanities, 101 Archer Street. If you’re near downtown Tulsa at 6:30pm that evening, please join us for brief readings, raised cups, and snacks.

Wonderful—Congratulations on 70 years!
